His Life in Nam

Wayne Caron enlisted in Boston on July of 1966 as a Hospital Corpsman, Third Class, in the Third Battalion, Seventh Marine Regiment of the First Marine Division. While on a sweep through a rice paddy, Caron and his patrol was involved in a fire fight in Quang Nam Province in Vietnam on July 28, 1968. During this fire fight, Caron was injured multiple times.  He was injured in the arm and leg as he ran from comrade to comrade providing First Aid for the wounded.  Caron was hit again by small arms fire and attempted to crawl to the next man when he was finally killed by an enemy rocket round.
